This course assists health and safety representatives (HSRs) to understand and fulfil their role and functions under the NSW Work Health & Safety Act 2011. Relevant extracts are shown on the following page.

Section 47 of the NSW WHS Act 2011 requires a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU - the new term that includes employers) to consult with their workers. Having an elected HSR is one way to accomplish this. The role of an HSR is to facilitate the flow of information about health and safety between the PCBU and the workers in their work group.

Training is an entitlement under the WHS Legislation for elected HSRs, and The PCBU must make this training available to any HSR that requests it. Logisafe also recommends this training for any other Health and Safety Committee members.

The full course runs over five (5) days and may be attended at a public course held at a Logisafe venue or conducted in-house for an organisation with sufficient numbers to warrant this. Costs are $850 per person for single bookings. Group rates by negotiation.

If you have previouslt undertaken the full training, a one day refresher course will keep you up-to-daye with any changes that may have occurred since your initial training, and refresh your memory on the full course. Costs are $225 per person for single bookings. Group rates by negotiation.
