Work Safely at heights

 

Course Description:This unit covers working safely at heights in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes: identifying the work requirements, work procedures and instructions for the task; accessing and installing equipment; performing work at heights; and cleaning up the work area.

Training: (May be conducted at your premises or a Logisafe venue)

Logisafe recommends that training is conducted at the workplace to ensure relevance to the participants

  • Training: 1 day

TRAINING CONSISTS OF:

Formal training (including practical training) which covers:

  • The planning and preparation to safely and effectively perform work at heights

  • The identification and control, of work health and safety issues related to work at heights activities

  • Understanding relevant legislative obligations and duty of care responsibilities belonging to all persons involved in work at heights activities

  • The selection and inspection of the required equipment prior to performing work

  • The performance of work at heights tasks in accordance with relevant standards, legislative requirements and industry codes of practice

  • Select, deploy and use appropriate rescue equipment

 Assessment – Cumulative on the day:

  • Theory examination consisting of 70 questions

  • Performance assessment consisting of 6 practical exercises
