COURSE PROFILE‘This competency covers the control of entry to Confined Spaces for maintenance, servicing of vessels or other necessary reasons. Work in / entry to confined spaces shall conform to relevant local legislation and AS2865/2001, or it’s authorized update’.
All personnel entering a confined space and the standby person must be competent to enter that space. It is recommended that some or all of the team members should be trained in incident response including First Aid and CPR.
An accredited Logisafe trainer in Partnership with Tafe Queensland Mining Services (TQMS), RTO No: 0438, conducts this training.
The course covers:
1) Assessment of Confined Space prior to entry. PMA PER205B/01 2) Use of appropriate safety equipment and clothing PMA PER205B/02 3) Control Confined Space Entry PMA PER205B/03 4) Conclude Confined Space Operations PMA PER205B/04
Training includes a lecture style power point presentation and group exercises including risk assessments, tripod erection, harness use and atmospheric monitoring which place an emphasis on group discussion and the interaction of course trainees. The training requires a full day of between 8 – 10 hours depending on group size (Max 10).
Successful trainees will receive a Statement of Attainment issued by Tafe Queensland.
